Senior Learning Experience Designer (HR)

We are seeking a creative and highly collaborative Senior Learning Experience Designer to join our HR team. You will be the go-to creative force in developing learning content, shaping the employee experience, and operationalizing learning journeys across onboarding, performance management, leadership development, and ongoing skills growth. You’ll act as both designer and builder—creating original materials, multimedia assets, and digital learning experiences using modern and engaging tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Synthesia, Easy Generator, Adobe, etc.). Your role will blend marketing-inspired creativity with people-focused learning solutions, to help define and elevate the talent and learning function embedded in HR.
You will collaborate closely with HR business partners, Talent / L&D leads, subject matter experts, and external partners to design, develop, deliver, and measure learning interventions that drive behavior change, improve performance, and enrich the employee experience.
Portfolio Required: Demonstrated experience producing digital content (eLearning, video, graphics, etc.)—please include a portfolio or work samples.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities below are indicative; not all will be required at all times.
Strategy & Partnership
Partner with two Director-level HR Executives to support learning and talent strategies, roadmap, and priorities aligned with company goals (onboarding, performance, leadership pipeline, culture, etc.).
Apply adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and UX principles to create experiences that drive behavior change and skill growth.
Architect and deliver learning and talent journeys (e.g. onboarding flow, performance check-ins, career path modules) that align with HR processes and employee lifecycle touchpoints.
Stay current on trends and best practices in L&D, digital learning, employee experience, and adult learning theory.
Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent / L&D, performance management teams, legal/compliance, and external vendors.
Act as a trusted advisor to SMEs: guide them in packaging their content, standardizing inputs, and co-creating engaging learning.
Manage external content vendors or contractors when necessary
Ability to translate business needs into compelling, branded learning content, aligning all learning content to brand guidelines, tone, visual standards, and company culture.
Design & Development
Own the end-to-end creative process: from concept development to production, editing, publishing, and performance tracking.
Lead the design and development of storyboards, scripts, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and full e-learning modules.
Develop branded multimedia assets (graphics, video, audio, animations) using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc.), or other asset creation tools.
Build interactive, immersive learning experiences using authoring tools like Articulate Storyline / Rise, Camtasia, Easy Generator, Synthesia (or similar), etc.
Create supporting deliverables: job aids, quick reference guides, infographics, performance support tools, microlearning modules
Publish, test, and QC content (SCORM, xAPI, HTML5), integrate into LMS or learning platforms, and maintain version control.
Facilitate or support virtual instructor-led training (vILT), live webinars, or blended modalities when needed.
Troubleshoot technical or content issues; monitor learner feedback and engagement metrics.
Monitor usage, completion rates, learner engagement, and learning ROI; iterate and improve content.
Audit and refresh existing content periodically to keep it current, relevant, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Ensure learning and brand assets adhere to standards (branding, quality, accessibility, version control).
Maintain documentation, templates, style guides, and a content library / repository.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience / Education
Minimum 5 years of experience in instructional design, learning & development, or related roles (corporate or agency).
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, Communications, or related field.
Experience working within or closely with HR / People operations, ideally in roles impacting onboarding, performance, culture, or talent development.
