Role Description:
We are seeking an innovative Senior Manager, Accounting (Revenue/AR) to support our continually growing Accounting & Finance team. The Senior Manager, Accounting (Revenue/AR) will be instrumental in helping to set up processes, create efficiencies, and the professional development of all reports within the department to position itself for exponential growth in the coming years.
What you’ll do:
- Manages the end-to-end revenue cycle including processing/recording, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Global Controller in technical analysis of new contracts, transactions, and be a subject matter expert of ASC 606 and related ASC guidance.
- Directly manage and support the AR team in billing/collection efforts. Responsible for staff development and accountability.
- Be responsible for AR/related reserve general ledger accounts and account reconciliations for month-end close processes.
- Direct, coordinate and help respond to customers’, partners’, and sales’ questions, resolving problems/disputes and reconciling discrepancies to expedite collections.
- Review/approve credit memos, process AR corrections, review/post AR cash receipts to ensure the integrity of the AR subsidiary ledger.
- Work with our Merchant Care team to resolve customer payment disputes.
- Guide our collections effort to ensure complete & timely payment from our merchants.
- Identify accounts that are uncollectable and work with our operations team to liquidate merchant inventory.
- Process credit applications to update merchant billing to weekly or monthly.
- Develop metrics to track invoicing and collections team performance, closely monitor and perform against collection targets and analyze and assess collection issues to identify the course of action for resolution.
- Find opportunities to enhance, improve, and implement procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency, with a specific focus on system usage/capabilities and increasing automation.
- Perform credit assessment and review, establish system driven controls and develop key AR status reporting, as well as policies and procedure documentation.
- Assist with documentation for internal controls around the Order to Cash cycle and participate in testing as needed.
- Prepare and/or review documentation for quarterly/annual audit requests.
- Performs special projects upon request from all levels of management.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- CPA strongly encouraged.
- 7+ years of progressive experience within revenue reporting and recognition, billings, credit, and collections.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience, with solid management and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills required, including VLOOKUP’s, SUMIF’s and Pivot Tables.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Skilled in performing accounting procedures; preparing and maintaining accurate records; compiling & preparing financial reports.
- Ability to compile and present financial reports.
- Experience with NetSuite or other large ERP system.
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- High level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgement, and attention to detail in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
