Summary
This position is responsible for entering new cases into the case management system.Examples of duties
- Receives and processes new cases from the county jail on a daily basis.
- Enters case information into the case management system.
- Processes electronic and hard-copy files.
- Reviews edit sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Delivers files to attorneys.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in the use of modern office equipment.
- Skill in providing customer service.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must have a minimum of one ( 1 ) year of general work experience.
- Must be able to type 30 wpm.
Supplemental information
Complexity/Scope of Work- The work consists of related receptionist and customer service duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to provide customer service and clerical support for office operations. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Occasionally
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
- Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds.
- Medium work that includes carrying objects up to 50 pounds.

Other Requirements/Information
- Must possess a valid and current Texas Driver's License or a Texas Identification card.
- The Webb County Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this position. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required.
- This position is not covered under Civil Service; however, all other Webb County policies apply.
