Job Description:

Location: Stephenson Cancer Center at Norman Regional

Shift Available: PRN, Part-Time (as needed)
 

General Description: Under direct supervision, will provide services for the Radiation Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels and in all areas that are served by the department.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position.  Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. 

  • Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff. 
  • Records treatment information and patient’s treatment response in the patient’s computerized medical record.
  • Acts as a resource person to medical staff. 
  • Assists with treatment and monitoring of patients. 
  • Provides age appropriate care to patients. 
  • Ensures equipment is cleaned and maintained. 
  • Maintains necessary therapy records. 
  • May work on a variety of assignments within the department.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiation Therapy program.                     

Experience: 0-3 years of experience.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:  Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Radiation Therapy and the operation and repair of equipment.  Knowledge of patient care as it relates to radiation therapy and age of the patient. Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patient’s needs.  Ability to work under stress.  Good interpersonal skills.  Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff.  Some computer skills.
