Senior Director of University Housing Business and Finance

Job Summary

The incumbent in this position is involved in the planning, implementation, and administration of business practices and procedures for budget and accounting, procurement, and provides support to University Housing’s managers and specialists, analyzes, evaluates, and improves financial systems, allocation processes, and resources. This position also works within Financial Services  Budget and Finance to provide necessary updates and ensure compliance with all campus and Chancellor’s Office policies and procedures.

Department Summary

Key Qualifications

• Directs and coordinates the formulation and evaluation of the department’s nearly $100M budget, revenue, and resource allocation plans in collaboration with the Housing Leadership Team.  Works with the VP, AVP and Executive Director to set rates for on-campus student housing and summer conference guests and assigns fiscal resources to support these programs.
• Serves as the leading authority for all University Housing budget management and financial planning.  Works closely with the University Financial Services teams and the Chancellor’s Office Financing & Treasury department. Serves as an active member of the Housing Senior Leadership Team.
• Lead the department’s financial and resource analysis, projections, modeling, and data analytics services; ensure alignment of university resources with the mission and priorities of the department’s strategic plan.
• Serve as the primary resource, manager, and advisor for budgeting and financial support to the VP, AVP, Executive Director and senior leaders in the department. Evaluates and provides strategic business support and analysis to existing operations, including financial planning, forecasting, and financial risk analysis.
• Manages purchasing for furniture, supplies, vendors, consultants, etc. for daily operations and for the Housing Future Plan, a $1.2B, 10-year new construction and major renovation program.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, public administration or a related field. Five (5) years of high-level administrative technical experience in accounting, fiscal management, budget planning, and budget administration.

• Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for this role is $115,000 - $150,000 Per Year. Note that the offer is calculated based on the background and relevant years of experience of the individual selected.

The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
