PSE's New Product Development team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Associate Business Support Analyst position!

Job Description

PSE’s Pole Services team is part of the Customer Energy Innovation department which develops new energy products and services to meet customer needs. The Pole Services group specifically engages with PSE’s municipal, telecommunications and construction development customers interested in street and area lighting, communication siting, wireless, wireline and other pole related services. Additionally this team is responsible for developing new smart city infrastructure opportunities that will leverage PSE’s vertical pole assets.

 

The Associate Business Support Analyst plays an integral role on this team by coordinating support activities to meet the needs of customers, including but not limited to; coordinating research and resolution of customer billing issues; responding to and resolving customer questions; reference contracts and apply contract interpretations into billing practices; process annual pole rental billing documents.  Review annual rent payments and ensure application to proper sites and contract accounts; validate wireless sites annual payment received; work towards decreasing aged receivables, issue pole topping fees.  Assist with implementation of process improvement for processes such as, but not limited to:  annual pole rent review, annual pole rent payment applications, task usage processes, billing tool improvements. 

 

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares non-consumption billing documents for construction related activities.
  • Creates project work orders as needed.
  • Apply contract interpretations into billing practices
  • Issue annual pole rental billing documents for pole attachments
  • Review annual rent payments received and ensure application to proper sites and contract accounts.
  • Issue pole topping fees, ensure accuracy of poles topped match between systems. 
  • Coordinating research and resolution of customer billing issues.
  • Responds, tracks and resolves customer questions, requests or service issues.
  • Prepares various reports on topics related to sales metrics, revenue, quality customer service, etc.
  • Assist with process improvement for processes such as, but not limited to: annual pole rental review, annual pole rent payment application, task usage process improvement, billing tool improvements.
  • Inputs data and evaluates the output from departmental modeling tools, benchmarking comparisons and performance reporting. Initiates, leads and performs analysis; provides/presents recommendations.
  • Provides ad-hoc data analysis, which may include research and review of issues, and follow-on response.
  • Coordinates and supports data requests from internal or external sources (such as compliance, audits, government filings, etc)
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
  • Assists with departmental initiatives, new analysis development and process improvement, on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related, and 1 year experience in quantitative/ qualitative analysis; or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Experience utilizing MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Process documentation and improvement experience.
  • Utility industry experience.
  • Related business-specific experience may include:
    • Familiarity with relational database (such as MS Access, SQL, Oracle).
    • Familiarity with CSEE Systems (CSY, CIS, CMS).
    • Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    • Knowledge of programming language (Visual Basic, SQL, VB.NET, HTML).
    • Familiarity with SAP, BI, PACE.
    • Knowledge of WAC rules & tariffs, WUTC rules and regulations
