JOB SUMMARY:

To perform preventative maintenance, repair and set up Production centric equipment, machines, and systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Performs or assists a higher-grade mechanic in the repair and maintenance of a variety of conventional machine tools and mechanical equipment by disassembling and locating the cause of operational difficulties and repairing or replacing worn or broken parts.
•    Works from general procedures and in accordance with standard or recognized methods and repair practices to make decisions regarding diagnosis of trouble, replacing parts and assembling to OEM tolerances.
•    Confers with Maintenance Management concerning problems found, repairs needed and faulty operational practices.
•    Document work performed as required.
•    Operates cranes, hoists, forklifts, scissor lift, boom lifts, cutting torch, moving trucks and heavy jacks when repairing or setting up machinery.
•    Operates drill presses, grinders, band saws and uses hand tools in repairing and installing machinery and equipment.
•    Confers with Maintenance Management concerning problems found, repairs needed and faulty operational practices as needed for a safe work environment.
•    Uses standard measurement devices in performing duties.
•    Responsible only for own work.

EDUCATION:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Requires the use of complicated drawings and specifications, advanced shop math and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year diversified industrial machine repair or related experience required
  
  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in all parts of plant under varying conditions of heat, cold, etc., but not continuous
