A Pension Program, Life Insurance, AD&D and opportunities for growth and development. Our Maintenance operator is responsible for maintenance of all emulsion and asphalt terminal equipment. The ideal candidate will operate and understand all plant equipment. Must possess the ability to enter confined spaces and operate pressure washer and vacuum equipment. This position will be cleaning tanks, boilers, trailers and all related equipment. Essential Job Functions
- Regular travel between our 3 facilities: West Sac, Redding, Bakersfield. (Transportation and accommodations provided)
- Performing routine maintenance and applying preventive measures to all plant equipment.
- Operate all boilers, heaters, oxidizers, and any other plant equipment.
- Cleaning out storage tanks by shovel and pressure washer
- Scrape and scrub walls to remove scale.
- Sweep up debris and shovel sludge into buckets or wheelbarrows.
- Removes liquids from tank bottoms with squeegees or pump and suction hoses
- Commission, maintain, and operate radar inventory systems
- Use power tools to cut steel pipe and open man ways
- Ability to problem solve
- Maintain and trouble shoot heating systems: Boilers, heaters, and pumps
- Keep up appearance of facility by regular cleaning and removal of spilled product
- Basic written recordkeeping.
- Adherence to all environmental, health and safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Basic housekeeping duties (cleaning up litter, spilled products, bathrooms, and offices).
- Work overtime as required.
- Report to work daily and on time.
- Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English.
- Ability to utilize a calculator for basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to acquire OSHA 10-hour safety training.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Understanding of basic boiler or Hot oil heater operations and maintenance (chemicals and water testing for boiler operation); and
- Ability to self-start, motivate and work with little direction and ability to work in dirty adverse work conditions.
- High School Diploma
- Ability to acquire a license for Forklift Operation (OSHA); and
- Current state automobile driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, potentially for work-related travel.
