Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for all lactation related services, programs and education and services as a resource for lactation counseling and support to the community. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Good oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in nursing theory and practice of nursing process.
Must have knowledge, skills in infant development, nutrition, obstetrics specially related to lactation.
Job Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited college/university or institution.
Experience: three to five years nursing experience, specifically in obstetrics and/or infant development required.
Registration, Certification or Licensure Requirement: Current Ohio RN licensure; Must possess IBCLC Certification, Other certification required per department policy.
Working Conditions: May be required to drive to patient homes, clinics, etc. Must have valid driver’s license
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Work requires excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to communicate effectively with mothers and a variety of professional personnel.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Experience with NICU patients preferred. Covers NICU and OB but will flex throughout house to provide lactation support as needed.
Hours:
Hours: 3 shifts in a 6 week schedule with flexibility to cover other hours PRN
Hours per pay period: 48
Weekend, holiday and on-call rotation required per department policy
