Job Description:
About the Role:
The Sr. Plant Engineer is responsible for leading the strategic development, execution, and optimization of plant engineering systems and capital projects. This role partners with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance, support manufacturing excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, reliability, and sustainability. You will be performing the following tasks, including but not limited to:
- Develop and execute the plant engineering strategy in alignment with organizational objectives and business priorities.
- Lead multiple capital and operational projects, ensuring successful execution within established timelines and budgets.
- Manage all aspects of assigned capital projects, including safety, scope management, commissioning, qualification, verification, cash flow, and budget tracking.
- Follow Capital Initiative Management processes and provide consistent communication to stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Partner with sourcing and procurement teams to develop and execute project purchasing strategies.
- Maintain site technical drawings and ensure proper engineering document retention and control.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and engineering support for critical operational challenges.
- Lead root cause failure analysis efforts and implement sustainable engineered solutions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Supply Planning, R&D, Finance, IT, and Plant Leadership teams to achieve business objectives.
- Support the execution of large-scale projects in partnership with the Corporate Engineering team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, environmental performance, food safety, cost optimization, and equipment reliability.
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve employee safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
- Serve as the Initiative Management Pillar Leader for the site and ensure alignment with Lean Capital processes.
- Develop business cases, project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates to support future capital investment planning.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
