This is an important role at our facility, overseeing maintenance, special projects, and improving operational efficiency. As a Facilities Engineer at PPG, you have an exciting opportunity to make a difference for our people – employees, leaders, and the communities within which we operate.

What you will do:
- Assist with and/or develop Capital and Expense projects for review, including development of supporting documentation.
- Maintain critical documentation such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Safe Job Procedures (SJP).
- Perform site condition surveys, including fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and other miscellaneous condition observations. Assign work and follow-up to rectify findings.
- Manage and execute effective handoffs, including follow-up on ongoing project and maintenance work.
- Support contractor interactions, contractor safety requirements, and ensure contractors perform work in accordance with Caterpillar’s safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Support resolution of issues; troubleshoot to determine the cause of failure, the lack of efficiency, and the need for repair or improvement of systems or equipment.
- Support operations and product development projects as required
- Other miscellaneous tasks as required to support the site.

- Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Ability to prioritize a wide variety of projects and objectives; effectively completing tasks.
Education:
- Accredited engineering degree, engineering technology degree OR equivalent previous experience.

Facility Experience
- Previous experience with processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities.
- Experience identifying and mitigating a wide range of actual and/or potential hazards.
- Working knowledge of standards, procedures and policies, such as OSHA, NFPA, FM, and other standards; ability to plan, guide, and monitor projects and processes for compliance.
