2nd shift Distribution Center Lead

Job Summary

This position would receive instructions from the Supervisor and directs the work of others to perform the assigned tasks or produce the schedule for the day.

Responsibilities

• Receives daily schedule and requirements from Supervisor, then directs the work of departmental employees to include their job assignment for the day to meet the schedule and requirements.
• Provides employees with and materials, direction, or whatever assistance they require to perform the assigned work for the department.
• Coordinates with Supervisor to order necessary materials.
• Assists Supervisor in maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Ensures the area is operated to meet or exceed established efficiency goals, safety goals, quality and other goals set by the department.
• Operates a forklift truck and/or other material handling equipment.
• Provides instruction and training for new employees.
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area.
• Stands in for Supervisor during his/her absence.
• Perform all functions of a DC1, DC2, Quality Inspector and other related duties as may be required.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead team members while providing constructive feedback when necessary preferred.
• Must be able to perform all physical demands of the position including bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs., frequently.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, written correspondence, and memos.
• Must be able to perform basic math.
• Must have critical and analytical thinking skills.
• Must be able to work either first or second shift.
• Basic computer experience with MS Outlook, Word and Excel preferred.
• Previous distribution center experience and/or lead experience preferred.
