About the role
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:30 am, overtime as neededSalary Range: $21-$26/hour dependent on experience with shift differential for second shiftMarlin Steel is looking for a press brake operator who has experience running CNC press brake machinery.
Essential Functions:1. Ensure working environment is clean and safe2. Operate CNC sheet metal machines such as resistance welders, punch, laser, press brake, and Timesaver.3. Select appropriate material as required by each job specification4. Keep raw materials storage area properly organized and all materials identified.5. Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, sketches and assembly instructions6. Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of operations, verify specifications and alter dimensions to fit specifications7. Set up and operate hand bending and pneumatic bending equipment as required per part specifications and machine capabilities.8. Complete minor maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces9. Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed10. Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction11. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems12. Report errors in production line13. Complete quality control forms in accordance with company procedures14. Communicate and provide information to supervisors and coworkers15. Removes burrs, sharp edges or rust from workpiece.16. Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor Competencies1. Operating sheet metal equipment, Trumpf is preferred but not required.2. Use measuring equipment (to include tape measure, micrometer etc.) for verification of parts to specification3. Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.4. Mechanical knowledge of machine and tools including the ability to learn new equipment and techniques5. Teamwork orientation6. Problem solving/analysis7. Technical capacity
