Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Dispatch Shift Manager is responsible for operations and associates while on shift as well as dispatching calls for Tribal Police, Tribal Security and Tribal EMS. You will report to the Dispatch Site Manager.
Primary Tasks:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the dispatch center, ensuring dispatchers handle calls efficiently and follow protocols for Tribal Police, Security, and EMS.
2. Manage multiple responsibilities, including monitoring dispatch activities, assisting with escalated incidents, and ensuring team performance while maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
3. Maintain and audit dispatch logs, reports, and call recordings in the assigned computer program to ensure compliance and accuracy.
4. Support scheduling adjustments, manage shift coverage, and assist in planning for dispatcher availability to ensure proper staffing levels.
5. Ensure quality assurance by providing guidance to dispatchers, monitoring calls, and enforcing adherence to policies, procedures, and OLETS (Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications System) requirements.
6. Assist in dispatcher training, provide coaching on customer service techniques and emergency response procedures, and ensure team members can give and receive instructions effectively.
7. Act as a communication link between dispatch, Tribal Police, Security, EMS, and other departments to coordinate response efforts and ensure smooth operations.
8. Support leadership in dispatch center operations, including OLETS supervision, compliance with regulatory requirements, and handling additional tasks as needed.
9. Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
· 2 years of prior dispatching experience plus 1 year of supervisory experience required
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Able to obtain and maintain OLETS and TAPS certification
· Knowledge of personal computers and basic computer functions
· Knowledge of communications equipment and proper radio terminology
· Full working knowledge of CAD/Dispatch Software and OLETS Terminal
· Displays the ability to reason and react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
· Ability to communicate with groups and individuals effectively both orally and in writing.

Have the knowledge of customer service techniques and concepts. 5. You will maintain dispatch logs of Tribal Police, Security and EMS on the assigned computer program. 6. Assist with scheduling needs of the dispatchers. 7. Ensure the Dispatchers on shift are performing their jobs correctly. 8. Give and receive instructions. 9. Assist with Supervisory responsibilities for OLETS. 10. You will perform other tasks as assigned. · High school diploma or GED required. · Must be at least 18 years of age. · Able to maintain OLETS and TAPS certification · Knowledge of personal computers and basic computer functions · Knowledge of communications equipment and proper terminology of radio. · Full working knowledge of CAD/Dispatch Software and OLETS Terminal · Displays the ability to reason and react calmly and quickly in an emergency. · Proper judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. · Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and time management skills. · Communicate with groups and individuals both orally and in writing. · Must have knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software applications. · Two (2) years’ prior dispatching experience.
