Purpose/Introduction
The Finance Department aims to be a trusted partner that adds value by protecting the company’s financial integrity, guiding sound business decisions and offering enriching careers in a collaborative workplace. Finance oversees financial planning and fiscal management for Chevron Phillips Chemical including accounting, financing activities, planning, and tax compliance. The department provides financial information, policy analyses and recommendations that drive sound decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits with defined objectives, priorities and schedules with supervision and guidance from Audit Management and/or Senior Internal Auditors
- Build skills and attain a level of proficiency to be the Lead Auditor
- Analyze business processes and procedures, recognize areas of risk, and develop auditing approaches to test the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company processes/procedures as well as identify opportunities to improve efficiency of processes/procedures
- Perform data mining and analytics as part of audit testing activities
- Maintain a current knowledge of audit industry standards and practices
- Provide constructive candid feedback to auditees
- Communicate (written and oral) with auditees to obtain required information, present findings and assist in preparation of final audit reports
- Communicate audit progress updates to auditees and audit management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related subject
- 2+ years of audit experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance or related subject
- Professional certification (CIA, CFE)
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations
- ERP software experience (SAP preferred)
- Experience in data analytics
