Senior Research Scientist, Remote

The Senior Research Scientist will provide leadership in Aledade’s revenue estimation process by enhancing accuracy of existing estimates and improving our forecasting ability. This will require analyses that leverage rich data sources including national Medicare claims, CMS public use data, and other CMS- or payer-provided data products. They will work cross-functionally with partners across the company to surface insights on revenue estimation, make recommendations for improvement, and implement improvements.
Primary Duties:

Identify analysis priorities:

• Lead efforts with teams across Aledade and external partners to proactively identify and clarify important strategic and tactical questions for data analysis and experiments.

Design and execute analysis projects:

• Design and lead descriptive, predictive, and/or causal inference statistical analyses for large scale projects and complex program areas.
• Design and program code to integrate, evaluate, and analyze diverse data sources.
• Perform data analysis and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights and solutions. 
• Supervise junior colleagues in programming and model implementation for large scale projects.

Translate and communicate analysis results:

• Form strategic and tactical recommendations for leaders across Aledade teams based on evidence. 
• Lead efforts across teams to synthesize results from complex analyses, identify implications of analysis results and translate findings into action.
• Lead and supervise development and presentation of analytic products that accurately communicate insights from the data and inspire action. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+  years of relevant experience. Advanced degree may substitute for some experience.
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming
• Experience with healthcare data sources such as medical or pharmacy claims, electronic health record, event notification, clinical, and patient reported data, and working in a complex enterprise data warehouse

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters in business, finance, public health, or actuarial training, with an emphasis on data analysis
• Excellent quantitative analysis abilities, grounded in econometrics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related field
• Advanced data manipulation skills, including SQL fluency
• Demonstrated ability to lead nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations, presentations, and reports.
• Knowledge of standard methods for measuring health care utilization, spending, quality, and related outcomes
• Expertise in value based care and Medicare policy, plan operations, data, and financial methodologies
• Attention to detail, particularly with version control (e.g. Git), quality assurance, documentation, and building repeatable processes
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership as well as engineers and other analysts across Aledade
• Provides mentorship to more junior colleagues through code and documentation review, methods support, and outcomes communications
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities.
