This position assists in managing Reeves Library and student employees during evenings and weekends, while also supervising our circulation desk. Reeves Library is currently open Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-10:00pm, and Sundays from 2:00 pm-10:00 pm. This position will work approximately 20 hours a week primarily 6:00 pm-10:00 pm Monday-Thursday, and Sunday 2:00 pm-6:00 pm. However, times can be subject to change based on scheduling and availability.
During these hours, this position will work with student employees and facilitate training as needed, while working with our online training system to keep it up to date. This position will also manage the building, providing customer service, research support, and handling issues that might arise during staffed hours. Special projects will be assigned as needed, including archival assistance and collection maintenance. This position will also assist our Librarians with setting up events and outreach opportunities during evenings and weekends.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Manage Student Employees during the evening & weekend shifts
- Provide customer service to our evening and weekend library users
- Cover the Reeves Library email and answer research-related questions in person and online.
- Train Student Employees as needed.
- Assist in updating current online student worker trainings and other student employee initiatives
- Open and close the library during assigned evening and weekend shifts.
- Help facilitate student worker coverage at front desk and study zone areas during evening and weekends.
- Work on projects assigned by library staff, including archives and collection maintenance.
- Assist librarians with programming and outreach during evenings hours
- This position will assist in managing student employees during the evening and weekend hours. They would report to the Director of Library Services, who currently oversees all student employment at Reeves Library.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or some higher education preferred. Equal/relevant work experience will be considered.
