POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Operational Excellence drives measurable operational efficiency and performance improvements across an enterprise network of 250+ ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). This role partners with corporate, field, and center leadership to identify opportunities, execute sustainable changes that improve efficiency, utilization, throughput, and overall operating performance while maintaining an excellent patient experience. The role also supports corporate strategic projects and transformation initiatives, translating strategy into practical execution at the center level and scaling proven solutions across the network. Through leadership & influence, this role can directly impact center performance, financial results, and the organization’s ability to grow and transform at scale.
Work Schedule: Remote
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead end-to-end performance improvement initiatives across multiple ASCs, from diagnostic assessment through implementation and results tracking
- Support field operations with identifying and executing efficiency levers such as optimizing staffing models, maximizing operating room utilization, streamlining scheduling, and improving overall patient throughput
- Collaborate with, coach, and influence field teams, center leaders, and physician partners to drive sustained improvements through effective change management and stakeholder engagement
- Apply continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) to streamline operations and reduce waste across surgery centers and/or corporate support processes
- Develop and refine toolkits and playbooks that can be replicated across the network
- Serve as a project lead for cross-functional corporate initiatives that support growth, capability enhancements, and strategic objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:

Competencies:
- Strong stakeholder change management skills with the ability to influence without authority and quickly build credibility with individuals at all levels (physicians, administrators, operational & enterprise support leaders)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability (Excel fluency; able analyze data and translate into action) with effective communication of concise, data-backed storytelling and actionable recommendations
- Entrepreneurial mentality – a strong ownership of results and driving projects to completion with demonstrated ability to recognize, prioritize, and evaluate key drivers of business value
Travel:
Periodic travel (10%-20%) to centers and corporate team meetings required
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA or MHA preferred
- 5+ years leading end-to-end operational improvement initiatives in a healthcare setting with a track record of delivering measurable results in labor productivity, resource utilization, throughput, and/or cost improvement initiatives
- Experience leading ASC operations and/or driving operational improvements in ASCs (center-level leadership, multi-site ops, or enterprise support) strongly preferred
- Clinical background (RN) and/or demonstrated ability to partner effectively with clinical teams preferred
- Background in industrial engineering, process improvement and/or consulting preferred
