Banner University Medical Center - Tucson (BUMC-Tucson) is an Academic, Level 1 Trauma hospital in Southern Arizona and has expanded and has the newest patient care equipment and computers for state-of-the-art care.

In addition, high-performing specialties including cancer, diabetes/endocrinology, gastroenterology/GI surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, neurology/neurosurgery, orthopedics and urology.

Banner University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join our Progressive Care Unit. 3E is a Adult Medical Specialty Unit, which provides acute medical care to adult and geriatric patient populations. The unit provides care to patients with multiple diagnoses such as respiratory failure, renal failure, liver failure, infectious disease, acute neurological dysfunction, oncology and more. Our specialties also include caring for adults with Cystic Fibrosis patients and who require peritoneal dialysis.  

The variety of diagnoses seen daily on 3NE allow our staff to learn a multitude of skills that can prepare them to work anywhere in the future.  PCA’s enjoy a supportive working environment and strong sense of teamwork. 3E has a supportive and diverse culture where both new graduate CNAs and RNs and seasoned nurses and techs thrive together.

  • We have a Full -Time Night Shifts available (3 -12 hour shifts)  
  • Night Shift from 7pm-7:30am.
  • There are no set day schedules.
  • Weekend Rotations are required in this role.
  • Rotating Holidays Required - 1 major and 1 minor
  • Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-Night Shift differential when applicable

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.

2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit
