Join Jefferson Health New Jersey’s nocturnist team, providing dedicated overnight inpatient care in our South Jersey acute care hospitals. This role involves 11–12 twelve-hour shifts per month (7 p m–7 a m), offering a supportive and sustainable work schedule.

Job Description

  • Overnight Admissions & Inpatient Care: Evaluate and admit patients from the ED, conduct night rounds, and manage care for previously admitted patients.
  • Cross-Coverage Support: Provide backup to APPs, assist with ICU needs including rapid responses and Code Blue events.
  • Clinical Supervision (Optional Academic Track): Supervise residents and support triage and admissions for teaching teams—three nocturnists typically cover each night.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, specialists, social work) and ensure comprehensive transitions at shift change.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough charting of histories, physicals, daily notes, and plans of care, ensuring compliance and accurate comorbidity coding.

Salary Range

The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
