We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Develop software solutions for service monitoring, automated remediation, measuring availability and reliability, performance, analytics, network. Build and deploy pipelines to add new features and fix issues.  Plan, architect, design, develop, and deliver software related to platforms at scale. Automating maintenance tasks with easily manageable configurations, solving scalability bottlenecks to improve performance and maximize system availability by ensuring functional and performance SLAs. Design, implement, and test complex, multi-tier distributed software application frameworks collaboratively with peers and technical leaders. Enhance code quality across multiple projects and business units. Architect, design, and execute migration strategies from existing experiences and services to new infrastructure.  Project planning and estimating effort for the different phases of the software development life cycle.  Isolate errors by trouble-shooting the application stack from application to framework to underlying infrastructure dependencies and network.  Build non-lossy data pipelines. Troubleshoot issues in a timely manner and recommend the root cause fixes for the issues. Build performance efficient, highly scalable, configurable, and available software applications and systems. Design, develop, and test high throughput back-end software systems. Develop object-oriented software and design, code, and test complex software features. Develop software code and help lead code review sessions. Segment and design technical system layers to support componentized and layered software application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Develop innovative technical solutions. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
