Salary: $120k - $150k
Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI
Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a Journeyman Software Engineer (Backend Developer) to design, develop, and maintain backend systems within a DevOps production environment. This role involves implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), ensuring application security, and collaborating with development teams to optimize backend functionality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop server-side logic, databases, and APIs to ensure smooth application performance.
2. Oversee Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices to enable cloud APIs to interact with infrastructure.
3. Integrate backend development processes with the DevOps team to streamline automation and deployment workflows.
4. Implement security measures within backend systems to safeguard data, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure compliance with best practices.
5. Diagnose and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks within backend infrastructure.
6. Conduct code reviews and merges to maintain code quality and consistency among backend developers.
7. Work within a SAFe/DevOps production environment, adhering to agile methodologies and continuous integration best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. 4+ years of experience in computer science/software development.
2. 2+ years of experience working in a DevOps production environment.
3. 2+ years of experience with some of the following technologies:
a. Operating Systems: Linux
b. Programming Languages: Python
c. CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, BitBucket Pipelines
d. Orchestration & Cloud Technologies: Kubernetes, AWS, and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Serverless)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
4. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
5. SAFe DevOps Certification
6. IAT Level II or higher (CySA+, Security+, or equivalent)
