Your Role
The Medication Policy Team is primarily responsible for supporting the Blue Shield of California Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee process and the operational components of the Drug Prior Authorization Program. The Operation Specialist will report to the Senior Manager for Medication Policy. In this role you will assist with policy configuration and updates.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Work with subject matter experts to review and identify modifications and enhancements required for business operations
- Maintain databases required for business operations
- Develop and evaluate tools and materials that enhance operating efficiency and accuracy of policy
- Develop and generate reports for management review; notify appropriate department mangers about issues and problems in policy workflow requiring immediate attention
- Participate as a subject matter expert in the development of written guidelines and documents problems as needed
Validate database output and policy configuration in the pharmacy authorization platform
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Requires 3 years of prior relevant experience
Requires 3 years of pharmacy related work experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft related software applications
