Job Summary
The Director builds and maintains key relationships with central University offices in the Physical Sciences Division (PSD), Data Science Institute (DSI), the Registrar’s Office, Office of International Affairs, and master’s programs across the University as appropriate to maintain the 3+ degree offerings for this growing, revenue generating graduate degree program. The Director will serve on a mid-sized team of staff and faculty across these primary functional areas: instructional services and innovation, enrollment management, student affairs, career services and external partnerships, marketing/advertising staff. The Director provides critical support for short-, medium-, and longer-term strategy for this revenue generating master’s program and works with minimal to no guidance to maintain the volume of applicants and matriculants as dictated by faculty leaders within the Division and wider University.
This position has direct management of any subordinate staff who serve as admissions and recruitment staff, analytics staff, and has dual management of marketing/advertising and communications staff. This position is unique in that the Director not only leads the admissions and recruitment aspects of enrollment management for the program but also, as outlined in this job description, analytics, financial aid, marketing/advertising and communications, and systems management. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Develops and manages dashboards and data reporting to assist senior leaders with data necessary for successful strategic enrollment initiatives (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Slate).
Works with program stakeholders to best understand their needs and effectively communicate the program’s findings (e.g., producing documents, slide decks, interactive websites, and presentations with an emphasis on producing actionable information that leads to the implementation of new strategies of policies).
Creates original research by overseeing the generation of descriptive, inferential, and predictive analysis of the applied data science education market as well as of applicant, student, and graduate behavior; special attention will be given to understanding the interaction between higher education and workforce dynamics in both local and global contexts.
Partners with functional stewards, business units, and user partners to develop reporting and analytic solutions with appropriate data governance and secure access.
Analyze admissions data from current and previous years to generate reports including direct management/oversight of weekly dashboard reports.
Utilizes data analytics to assess the effectiveness of enrollment marketing efforts.
Manages and optimizes the program’s use of the central system for application management (Slate) in coordination with other Division and University leaders.
