Job Description

The TD Insurance Shared Services Operations Team is responsible for delivering a legendary customer and colleague experience through simple, fast and fair claims resolution while ensuring financial results by focusing on the client experience, strong risk management, a well-run operating model, and being an extraordinary place to work.

The Group Manager, Operations oversees a significant operational function with overall accountability for the key performance and day-to-day management of the Salvage Recoveries team.

Key job duties will include:

  • Leading and inspiring a team of Salvage coordinators to achieve business results, while developing them both them professionally and personally;

  • Possessing and fostering strong analytical and negotiation skills amongst the team;

  • Ensuring productivity and efficiency standards are maintained;

  • Operating to continually improve delivery and align with future expectations of the business;

  • Ensuring team results are delivered within financial forecasts and key performance indicators;

  • Implementing process and performance changes in line with guidance provided by senior management;

  • Being a change leader, leading with conviction and evolving mindsets and behaviors with transparency and purpose;

  • Effective communicator with the ability to demonstrate purpose and accountability;

  • Developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners for the purposes of delivering ongoing efficiencies and influencing industry trends and innovations;

  • Protecting the interests of the organization – identifying and managing risks, and escalating them where necessary;

  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, competitive landscape and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Salvage unit and the business;

  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered;

  • Lead a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop team members and ensure performance management activities are undertaken;

  • Provide regular input into team member performance assessments and career development plans;

  • Lead the process of setting performance objectives for the team; track, monitor and effectively address and/or reward excellent performance;

  • Maintain and foster a fair and equitable workplace environment that supports a culture of diversity and inclusivity;
