Job Title: Senior Technical Writer

Location: Hill AFB, UT (Hybrid)

Canvas is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support the TMAS II contract at Hill AFB! This position is to provide assistance and advisory services to the DoD.

Duties:

• Research and gather technical information.
• Write and edit technical documentation.
• Create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical teams.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of technical information.
• Comply with style and formatting guidelines.
• Manage technical documentation projects.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Review and update technical documentation as needed.
• Work with a wide range of technical documentation tools and content management systems.
• Work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
• May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in relevant discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Research skills to gather information from a variety of sources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail to accurately capture and convey technical information.
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise language.
• Adaptability to meet the needs of different audiences and formats.
• Familiarity with style and formatting guidelines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team and collaborate with subject matter experts.
• Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and standards.
• Experience with version control systems and agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience writing technical documentation and content management systems, such as user manuals, technical guides, and test plans.
• Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT).
  

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
