Senior Director - Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery

Zafrens is a novel experimentation platform that is able to profile the molecular and phenotypic responses of cells simultaneously at extremely high throughput. We utilize the scale of combinatorial libraries in cell-based assays to generate high-resolution insights in drug discovery.

We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry who can bridge the depth and scale of our insights with rigorous target selection and chemical hypothesis while also leading our preclinical development efforts. The ideal candidate will have advanced multiple clinical candidates and be keenly aware of the latest advances in oncology and immunology drug discovery programs. A deep appreciation for assay development and chemical biology is essential. The ability to review patent literature and identify chemistry opportunities is also essential. We are keen to find an adventurous chemist who is willing to follow the science and have the experience to guide preclinical development.

Requirements

- A PhD in chemistry with at least 12 years of industry experience in drug discovery

- Must have advanced multiple development candidates, with some expertise in oncology and/or immunology

- A sense of adventure and curiosity and ab ability to utilize new tools for drug discovery

- Familiarity with cheminformatics approaches and openness to AI-informed insights

- Ability to lead autonomous teams and take ownership of drug discovery decisions
