Who will you be working with?

L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor or MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction, and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for a Production Clerk to join our Production Team. They will work closely with: Application Engineering, Design and Drafting Department, Shop Production and Personnel.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the team, you will use information from engineered custom designs to enter part numbers into our systems and process work orders for distribution to the production floor. This role is a critical part of the production process and relies heavily on the accuracy and timeliness of this position. This position will cross train into the Production Assistant position as back up to ensure production stays on track and on target.

What do we want to know about you?

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months of related experience in a manufacturing setting.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Accurately enter part numbers into system.
  • Process work orders and prepare for production distribution by deadline.
  • Ensure production has packets in advance and are sent in.
  • Review “Hit” list for schedule.
  • Organize packets of work orders and prints as per department specifications.
  • Back up Production Assistant from time to time in checking sales orders for accuracy.
  • In the absence of the Production Assistant perform the assistant’s job tasks.
  • Review hit list daily.
  • Update jobs in Epicor as needed including adding or deleting subassemblies, operations, or materials.
  • Complete all open operations and job completions Closes work orders.
  • Check all customer service sales orders for accuracy and distribute them to the designated plants for production.
  • Complete all revised prints and distribute to production when needed and update the revision in Epicor per job as needed. 
  • Distribute Sales orders to production when needed. (i.e., when there are revisions, etc.)
  • Prepare prints for production.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Domestic travel is possible depending on the project.
  • Perform related work as required by supervisor.

  •  Sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stay focused in an open area environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  •  Proficient data entry skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
  • Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
  • Demonstrate maturity, intelligence, cooperation, and discretion.
  • Work effectively with fellow employees and independently.
  • Dependability under both supervised and unsupervised conditions.
  • Willingness to train in all areas.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug and background test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

This role is also eligible for a production bonus.
