Job Description

The Financial Reporting Manager will have a positive attitude and be highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization, and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a critical and high-profile position that will play a crucial role in SEC reporting and technical accounting, including cashflow, stock-based compensation, debt, equity, investments, leases, etc. This role will be an individual contributor and reporting to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Assist with preparation of the Company’s SEC filings, including Form 10-Q/K, and earnings release.
  • Assist with preparation of stock-based compensation (including ESPP) valuation, close and footnote.
  • Work cross-functionally on contemplated business transactions to ensure relevant accounting issues/updates are identified, documented and resolved, and required disclosures are updated on SEC Form 10-Q/K.
  • Assess and implement new or changes to US GAAP and complete SEC and GAAP checklists.
  • Draft and update corporate accounting policies as needed throughout the year.
  • Draft and update accounting assessment memos as needed.
  • Assist in special projects as needed.

To be successful in this role:

  • Strong technical accounting background with a knowledge of US GAAP (especially around cashflow, stock-based compensation, equity, etc.), SEC reporting standards, SOX 404, and strong technical research and benchmarking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on experience with Workiva or other well-known reporting and filing platform and understanding of iXBRL/EDGAR filing requirements is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion or other well-know ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member.
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance or Accounting. Masters’ degree is a plus
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience, including 3 years in Big 4 public accounting
  • Hands-on experience with Workiva and Oracle Fusion is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $118,400 to $159,800. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
