Job introduction:

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic People Leader to oversee business critical tech initiatives in Global Finance Technology (GFT) including our in-house platforms Payment Hub and PAWS, and other critical modernization efforts for Global Finance and Treasury Operations, as well as contributing to the broader technology strategy for the Treasury engineering portfolio. This role will also work partner closely with other teams in GFT, LIFTED, USRM tech, and GRS tech to scale our enterprise platforms as technology and business needs evolve. Flexibility, cross team collaboration, and enterprise mindset are critical.

We’re looking for a people‑first engineering leader to focus on individual and team development, deliver outcomes, provide technical judgment and direction (including but not limited to: system design, architecture, code review, troubleshooting and mentoring). The right candidate must have demonstrated hands-on engineering and delivery experience, including but not limited to: programming (debugging, testing, maintenance), system design and architectural diagramming with ownership, and direct technical mentorship of engineers.

Technical experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record of hands-on engineering and delivery responsibility (including programming, debugging, testing, maintenance).
  • Experience in system design, creating architectural diagrams, and owning end-to-end technical decisions.
  • Demonstrated history of mentoring, developing, and growing engineers.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills; able to influence across Business, Product, and Technology.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo, prioritizing technical investments, and balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health.

About the job:

  • Talent & team leadership: recruit, hire, grow, deploy, and inspire engineers; provide coaching, technical mentorship (especially for junior staff), and build strong team relationships and culture.
  • Technical excellence and High-Performance Engineering: partner with tech leadership to set standards, enforce quality, reduce technical debt, and provide hands‑on guidance (system design, code review, troubleshooting).
  • Strategy & roadmaps: contribute to business and technology vision, define success metrics, and set operational plans for applications, units, or platforms.
  • Prioritization & delivery: align and prioritize work with lifecycle and enterprise initiatives, monitor progress, and adjust plans to ensure outcomes.
  • Cross‑functional engagement: collaborate with stakeholders, other teams, and external partners to scale enterprise platforms and align engineering with business objectives.
  • Vendor, contract, and financial management: oversee SOWs, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and application/portfolio budgeting (Total Cost of Ownership).
  • Innovation & technology adoption: encourage continuous improvement, evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platforms.
  • Communication: clearly convey technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences through strong verbal and written communication.
