Job Description
Main Objective of the Job:
Ensure the smooth deployment and operation of applications across various environments by automating processes and improving the development lifecycle.
Main Attributions and Responsibilities:
- Strong experience with in-memory data stores like Redis for caching, pub/sub messaging, and performance optimization, including the design and implementation of caching strategies to enhance application scalability and reduce latency
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for fast and reliable application delivery.
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance, and perform root cause analysis for production errors and major incidents
- Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to development, deployment, and production environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop and deploy new features.
- Provide technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Stay updated with new trends in DevOps practices and technologies.
- Understand and manage OpenShift platform, including pods, deployments, services, routes, environment variables, secrets, config maps, health checks, autoscaling, and role-based access (RBAC).
- Write Jenkins files (declarative/scripted pipeline), create Build → Test → Deploy pipelines, integrate Git, set up webhooks for automatic builds, deploy to OpenShift via Jenkins, and configure Jenkins agents/nodes.
- Forward logs to Splunk from apps/pods, create dashboards and alerts, and write search queries for debugging/log analysis.
- Write automation scripts (Bash, Python, Groovy), manage secrets securely, and follow config-as-code practices.
Qualifications
Studies and Soft Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in English (B2/C1).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
- Availability to travel for trainings and team events.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must Have
- 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Experience with Docker Containers and OpenShift (required), including pods, deployments, services, routes, environment variables, secrets, config maps, health checks, autoscaling, and role-based access (RBAC).
- Strong foundation in Linux
- Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab CI/CD.
- Proficient in monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, Vector, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and experienced with log forwarding, dashboard creation, alerts, and search queries for debugging and analysis.
- Experience with REST APIs (testing, integration), using Postman or curl to test endpoints, and configuring applications (ports, logging, ENV vars).
- Proficiency in source control management systems (e.g.GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab).
- Experience with in-memory data stores like Redis, including caching strategies, TTLs, Pub/Sub features, and performance monitoring.
- Experience with automation and security, including writing automation scripts (Bash, Python, Groovy), managing secrets securely, and following config-as-code practices.
- Programming experience in JavaScript (including Node.js) and/or TypeScript is preferred. However, candidates with strong experience in similar languages who are eager to learn JavaScript are also encouraged to apply.
Great to Have
- Understanding and experience with GraphQL, ExpressJS, and JoinMonster.
- Cloud knowledge of any platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud, including deployment, management, and optimization.
- Familiarity in SQL (Oracle and Microsoft SQL).
