Senior Accountant Position OverviewOur client seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing food manufacturing organization. This is a blended role combining financial accounting and financial analysis (FA), offering the opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is eager to grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant Lead and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activityProduce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAPPerform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost analysis related to manufacturing operationsPartner with operations and leadership to provide insights on cost drivers, margins, and performance metricsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysisSupport inventory accounting, including standard costing, inventory reconciliations, and adjustmentsMaintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processesAssist with audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditorsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency across accounting and finance functionsSupport special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
Qualifications of the Senior Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or food productionStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with cost accounting and inventory management strongly preferredAdvanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems a plusStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work cross-functionally and communicate financial information clearlySelf-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
