Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant II - Heart Transplant

Mayo Clinic Florida has a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in heart transplants. In this role, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients undergoing heart transplant procedures.
Responsibilities: As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic, you will perform a variety of tasks in authorized settings such as clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, or the patient's home. Your responsibilities will include:
- Obtaining patient history
- Performing physical examinations
- Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Formulating a diagnostic impression
- Developing and implementing a treatment plan
- Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs
- Making appropriate referrals
- Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with Florida state laws and department policies
- Demonstrating the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpreting information relative to the patient's age-specific needs
- Assisting with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy development
- Participating in other departmental or institutional committee assignments as needed

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
