Associate Research Scientist Part-time Non-exempt (Muthukrishna Lab)

Description

Professor Michael Muthukrishna is recruiting an Associate Research Scientist Part Time Non-exempt over the summer to support the design and management of various research projects. The Associate Research Scientist will contribute to experimental design, coordinate with field teams remotely, help manage data collection logistics, assist with literature reviews and background research, and support the analytic strategy and implementation.

 

An ideal candidate would have:

·      Field experience or experience with research in economic development

·      Strong quantitative skills (R, Stata, or Python)

·      Familiarity with experimental design and causal inference

·      Interest in AI, education, or cultural evolution

·      Independence, good judgment, critical thinking, and ability to get things done well and on time.

 

This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.

 

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $26-30/hr for 20 hours per week and up to 27 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

Masters degree, public policy experience highly valued.
