Role Overview

Pricing Data Science and Data Engineering is a globally distributed team responsible for developing scalable, high-performance AI/ML solutions to ensure Coupang offer the best possible prices within a highly convenient and personalized shopping environment to wow our customers. We build state of the art ML and DL models for automatic, real-time product mapping on tens of millions of products, statistical sampling and inference for concurrent testing on hundreds of millions of product pairs. We own end to end auto mapping model services and work closely with Product Management, Operation and Engineering.

What You Will Do

• Drives science excellence in applying SOTA Computer Vision and multi-modality models to solve complex business problems.
• Design layered application, drive the highest quality of architecture and design of product mapping systems.
• Align with PO and business to understand the problem and come out solution and align with stakeholders and lead scientists on mission critical projects to resolve complex business problem.
• Drive the roadmaps and vison for an auto mapping system that scales with business growth and achieves at human parity in system performance.
• Collaborate with other Coupang tech teams to make the service extensible to unlock opportunities for innovations.

Basic Qualifications

• PhDs in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Deep Learning
• 8+ years of work experience in application of CV/deep learning techniques to solve practical business problems.
• Active research and publication records
• Excellent communication skills, good read/write skills in English

Pay & Benefits   

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.  

The base pay for this position ranges from $171,000 / year in our lowest geographic market to $351,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
