What is App Hub at Workday?

App Hub is the core of Workday’s Extend platform. We build the platform that handles the lifecycle of applications in Extend. The platform governs promotion, deployment, installation of Extend apps, version management, and compiler orchestration. Our services are built in AWS with scalability, resilience, and robustness as core components of design.

About the Role

o   Collaborate with peers, product owners, and designers to design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software to our quickly growing developer community

o   Write clear, efficient, and scalable code with an eye towards maintainability

o   Participate in design and code reviews

o   Discover and troubleshoot issues with existing architecture and code

o   Polish, improve, and innovate with regards to the existing code base

o   Support the release planning by understanding the details (effort, risk, priority) of the planned features in an agile environment

o   Own and contribute to team productivity/process improvements

About You

Basic Qualifications-Sr. Software Development Engineer (Required)

• 8 + years of experience in developing and maintaining a production microservice
• 8 + years of experience with object-oriented or functional design and programming with Java or Go
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related experience
• 5+ years’ experience with cloud development tools, particularly AWS and Kubernetes (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudFront)
• Solid experience delivering cloud-based production services to an enterprise customer base

Software Development Engineer (Required)

• 5 + years of experience in developing and maintaining a production microservice
• 5+ years of experience with object-oriented or functional design and programming with Java or Go
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related experience

Other Qualifications:

• Experience with XpressO (Workday proprietary) and Golang is preferred
• Experience: Proven experience delivering cloud-based production services to an enterprise customer base
• Software Development: Demonstrated ability to translate design concepts into functional software
• Design Patterns: Strong understanding and application of common design patterns
• Development Tools & Processes: Proficiency in modern development tools and processes,
