About the role

All Sites:  Reception and Telephone duties & proficient operation laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling:  receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for at Reference Laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy - collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific Micro samples (per competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training new staff as assigned.

If assigned to a site where offered:  Dispatch functions, EKG performance, collection of DOT and non-DOT drug screens, for cause drug screens (HR), and Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT); clinic relief fill-in

Communication Requirements:  respectful and patient communications (written and verbal) with patients, clients, other lab staff, and caregivers from other departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an approved phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training program meeting requirements to become licensed as a MA-P or MA-C in Washington State.
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification
  • 2 years experience in a clinical lab setting,
  • Experience 7 of the basic skills described in the essential functions of the job description,

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
