About the role

Description

I. INTRODUCTION

A. This position is located at Raleigh Radiology facilities, free-standing outpatient imaging centers located in Wake County, NC and surrounding areas.

B. The primary function of the Senior Manager Clinical Operations is to provide day-to-day supervision of all areas of responsibility ensuring adequate staffing, technical oversight of procedures, equipment monitoring and maintenance, and supply acquisition for assigned offices.

C. The Senior Manager Clinical Operations is responsible for coordination of patient care for patients. He/she ensures adherence to all practice protocols, policies, procedures and specific instruction.

D. The Senior Manager Clinical Operations is registered in her area of training and expertise.

E. This position reports to the Executive Director Practice Operations.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) General Management Duties 60%

a) Maintains staffing schedules that ensure proper coverage for area of responsibility.

b) Participates in interviewing and hiring of staff for area of responsibility.

c) Responsible for job specific orientation and training of new staff.

d) Ensures competency of staff in all aspects of their job. Maintains competency records on each employee.

e) Keeps management abreast of performance issues, staffing needs, etc.

f) Responsible for supplies, maintaining adequate supply inventory, and making purchasing decisions based on pricing, availability and usefulness.

g) Functions as technical expert for subordinates.

h) Assists Accreditation Specialist with accreditation process in area of responsibility.

i) Establishes standard operating procedures to ensure consistent delivery of services.

j) Cooperates and assists management and peers in accomplishment of duties.

k) Ensures that all equipment is in working order, safe and properly calibrated, serviced, etc.

l) Arranges for repair of equipment to ensure continuous operation.

m) Participates in growth operations and the establishment of new offices.

2) General Diagnostic Duties 20%

a) Maintains standards of professional care and maintains patient confidentiality.

b) Performs ordered procedures in a safe, efficient and professional manner to include all required projections/protocols.

c) Assesses patient’s condition (physical and psychosocial); prioritizes needs, sets goals, and responds appropriately to meet those needs, which includes discharge teaching.

d) Engages with the patient to ensure a positive patient experience.

e) Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions to care rendered.

f) Administers contrast to assigned patients.

g) Assists with specific tests and procedures as needed.

h) Participates in economical utilization of supplies.

i) Assures that equipment is always maintained and available for use.

j) Assists coworkers and physicians in giving care to patients.

k) Establishes and maintains open communication.

l) Utilizes teaching opportunities with patient and other significant individuals.

m) Assists with / or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse occurrences in patients.

n) Maintains clean, safe and well-maintained supplied environment for patient and staff.

o) On regular, sustained basis, cooperates with other staff members both inside and outside the department in accomplishment of own job duties as well as assisting other in accomplishing theirs; serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization, always exhibiting traits of courtesy, caring, helpfulness and respect; conducts oneself in service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind when dealing with team members, visitors, public and all employees.

p) Performs other duties and accepts responsibility, as assigned.

3) Patient Care Activities 20%

a) Obtains initial history and assessment.

b) Sets up and monitors patients for IV Sedation cases.

c) Completes and documents history sheets.

d) Performs assessment that may include:

i) Vital signs, lab value interpretation

ii) History of recent complaint (reason for procedure)

iii) Brief pertinent medical history

iv) Complete list of medications and dosages, if necessary

v) Allergies

vi) Other pertinent assessment facts such as LMP, medical history, weight, etc.

e) Observes and assesses patients on an ongoing basis throughout patient visit to Raleigh Radiology.

i) Assesses patient’s physical and psychological state as well his or her responses to procedure.
