Staff Software Developer

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for designing and developing software systems and applications tailored to meet LendingPoint’s specific needs. This role involves making high-level decisions throughout the development process, from selecting design approaches to establishing technical standards, including platform choices and coding guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Define standards frameworks and solutions, within best practices, for the development teams to follow.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting best practices in software development and ensuring high code quality.
• Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Assist in selection of tools that facilitate the creation, management, and support of software.
• Lead design/development of core framework components that can be reused in other solutions.
• Contribute to the architectural design of new systems and the enhancement of existing ones, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Develop comprehensive technical specifications and documentation while writing clean, efficient code.
• Conduct rigorous testing in controlled environments to ensure product stability and functionality before deployment.
• Lead the team in creating Proof of Concepts (POCs) and conducting research on emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to present and prioritize projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to drive project success.
• Manage the Development team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust, continuous improvement, and teamwork including coaching, mentoring and career development.
  
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related discipline, required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Java developer with proven record of overseeing large cross-functional projects in a high scale application environment.
• 5+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, REST, and JSON.
• Proficient in web and API platform technologies including microservices, containerization, observability.
• Proven experience with the full development lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Proven knowledge of a broad spectrum of platforms, technologies, and design principles including: Python, Java, Unit Testing (TDD, Mockito, JUnit), SQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL), Angular/React, Apache/NGINX Configuration, Linux, GIT management and configuration, Jenkins CI, Container deployments (Kubernetes), Microservices, Salesforce Apex & Canvas, React/Redux, JVM profiling, Docker, OAuth, JWT, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Experience with leading multiple projects and advising leadership is desirable.
