Job Description

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to be primarily responsible for all Balance Sheet accounts and related transactions, fixed Assets, and Sales related accounting and analysis.  Direct responsibility for month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for related GL accounts.  Preparation of monthly analysis and reporting related to P&L accounts such as Overhead expenses and Cost of sales.  

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare account reconciliations, variance analyses, and various accrual calculations
• Perform month-end closing procedures and assist with annual tax kit and audit reviews
• Monitor compliance with company policies and internal control procedures
• Support projects from various managers and maintain necessary files and reports
• Ensure all fixed asset, cash, and other accrual transactions are properly recorded in accordance with corporate policy, procedures and GAAP.
• Record monthly journal entries and prepare all account reconciliations relating to balance sheet accounts.
• Calculate Rebates for customers and Commissions for external sales reps.
• Review departmental reports on a monthly basis to ensure expenses are recorded properly.
• Prepare Year End reports, including Annual Transaction Spend.
• Be a change agent for the department and business

Qualifications

 Qualifications Requirements:      

• 4-year Accounting degree
• 1-2 years of previous accounting experience (manufacturing environment required)
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles
• Position requires a professional, enthusiastic, detailed oriented individual with proven organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint
• Self-motivated, ability to multitask, and high level of professionalism
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and customers.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
