About the role

Overview

i3 is searching for a Software QA Lead for the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The Software QA Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance process and standards across the program to include Cyber, Data, Platform Services, and Software  teams. This includes designing and implementing testing strategies, managing QA/QC engineers, and ensuring that all MDA Directorate of Test (DT) software meets quality standards before release. The QA lead plays a crucial role in identifying and resolving quality issues, often working closely with leadership, system/network administrators, developers, and stakeholders.

 

MDA DT’s mission supports all testing activities including planning, logistics, analysis, and data management. A successful lead candidate will promote a culture of cross-functional, integrated development and QA teams focused on delivering high quality outcomes to the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage a Quality Assurance Plan that exceeds SLA requirements in a complex, mission focused environment focused on delivering consistent outcomes and holistic continuous improvement.
  • Develops, manages, and leads embedded Quality Assurance resources by providing advice, guidance, learning opportunities, feedback, and training.
  • Support User Story development with leadership, Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders
  • Support Example Mapping sessions to develop acceptance criteria, and test criteria for development teams
  • Track and status Quality Assurance metrics to leadership and stakeholders
  • Participate in multiple daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and sprint retrospectives
  • Coordinate with multiple development teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software products and implementation of QA processes within the SDLC
  • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the QA/QC resources.
  • Support tailoring of processes for project requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train, mentor, and develop employees on quality systems and procedures.
  • Represent the organization on quality-related matters to stakeholders and proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, or related field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • Minimum 11 years of relevant experience in quality, and quality management, preferably in the aerospace / missile defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100D, ISO 9001, and/or CMMI.
  • Understanding of Project Management, DoD Contracting, and ITIL and/or CMMI standards preferred.
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate prior to start date.
  • DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
