Corporate Human Resources Business Partner

What to expect:
The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for providing multi-faceted support to multiple workgroups at United Ground Express.
How you will make an impact:
- Oversee the day-to-day human resources operation in corporate functions.
- Coordinate employee relations activities including performance management and recognition programs.
- Conduct investigations and consultations with all employee work groups.
- Proactively communicate changes or company initiatives to impacted workgroups.
- Support labor relations when needed, including grievance responses and communication with Union Special Reps.
- Lead and conduct employee reasonable accommodation process.
- Partner with business leaders to liaise on issues such as employee recognition, recruitment, promotion, retention, development, change management, company investigations, etc.
- Interface with business partners regarding disciplinary actions.
- Address, investigate and resolve employee issues.
- Support new location start-up activity.
- Provide support for performance management including performance counseling.
- Responsible for supporting the business partners with emphasis in all areas of employee relations including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, EEO, employee appeals, mediations, settlement agreements, conflict resolution, and drug and alcohol programs.
- Leads or supports special projects and cross-functional HR initiatives , applying sound judgment and project discipline to deliver results.
What you will bring:
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience communicating effectively with all levels of the organization.
- 4 - 6 years of human resources experience with emphasis on business partnerships, employee advocacy, change activities, HR administration and labor activities.
- Broad knowledge of employee relations, training, conflict resolution and investigation experience.
- Experience with FMLA, EEO laws and other employment related state and federal laws & regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues including strong analytical skills.
- Ability to make rational, realistic decisions using good reasoning and sound judgement.
- Observance of confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships as well as develop and deliver fair and equitable solutions.
- Must be self-motivated and have an enhanced ability to prioritize, plan, and execute using good business judgement in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be well organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to effectively work with all levels of management.
- This position requires up to 20% travel, at times with little notice.
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Labor relations and grievance process management experience.
