Pratt & Whitney's Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) organization is seeking a Nondestructive Evaluations (NDE) Staff Technician for assistance  in developing new nondestructive inspections as well as working with engineering team members on existing developed inspections. Key customers include, but are not limited to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Foreign Militaries, Commercial Airlines, and P&W Programs.

What You Will Do:

  • The candidate will work closely with engineers and scientists from inspection development through implementation in NDT methods.  

  • The candidate must possess an affinity for working independently and following instructions provided, and show ability to work both hands on and with automated data collection systems. 

  • Key functions also include generation of custom fixtures and tooling to meet critical inspection needs, and effective daily planning to achieve milestones as agreed upon with group scientists or engineers.

  • The candidate will need to utilize hand tools such as drills, strapping machine, pallet jack, as well as ability to obtain a Pratt and Whitney PIV / Fork Truck license.

  • The preferred candidate will possess exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, and will work as part of a cohesive and dedicated team of scientist, engineers, and technicians responsible for the development of Nondestructive Evaluation methods.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) or NDT Level II in at least one NDT method

  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a technician.

  • US person status is required

  • Experience with running process related equipment

  • Demonstrated success in working across multi-functional organizations, and all levels of management 

  • Exhibited clear and effective communication, both verbal and written 

  • Confirmed effectiveness as a detail-oriented individual that possesses the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced, and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
