The Inventory Associate will be responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy in our receiving and inbound logistics. A successful candidate will be experienced, dependable, flexible, and a strong communicator with great problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Springboard Collaborative closes the literacy gap by closing the gap between home and school. We coach educators and family members to help kids learn to read by 4th grade. Springboard envisions a world in which all children have the requisite literacy skills to access life opportunities. The Inventory Associate supports this goal by providing the high-quality reading materials to run our impactful programs.
The Inventory Associate will report to the Warehouse Manager and work as part of the Supply Chain Team. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team to maximize the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

Here are your priorities in the first year:
- You will achieve on-time receiving (1 business day per 4 pallets) of 95%, as measured by daily assignment tracking in Asana.
- You will define and implement processes for inventory replenishment, using the Kanban system to consolidate inventory during and after production events.
- You will achieve a 95% passing rate on warehouse inspections conducted by the warehouse manager, measuring adherence to bin location maps and overall organization of the facility.
- You will maintain inventory balance accuracy of 98% through cycle counts, receiving/transfer verification, and EOY inventory.
Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:
- You own receiving procedures and processes
- Receive shipments from vendors and process through QStock
- Receive and repurpose returns from partner schools
- Develop a strong understanding of warehouse procedures
- You build kits needed for program sessions during production sprints
- Collaborate with material handlers to combine raw inventory to create book boxes and loaned libraries to ship to customers
- Work with the warehouse manager to create storage plans for finished goods
- Oversee completion of work orders in QStock, ensuring the correct items and quantities are pulled from inventory
- You track and complete all purchase orders in QStock software.
- Close out and receive all purchase orders using our inventory management system
- Audit all received items for accuracy and proper bin location
- Follow and enforce Supply Chain Team time metrics and KPIs around receiving and software reporting
- You monitor and communicate inventory levels to management and enforce adherence to inventory control policies.
- Lead cycle counts 1-2 weeks prior to all shipments to ensure adequate inventory levels
- Combine and consolidate inventory to deplete overstock
- Work with the warehouse manager to coach warehouse team members on proper inventory control and loss prevention protocols and monitor compliance
- Manage communication and logistics of incoming shipments
- You optimize the layout of the warehouse for efficient movements and storage.
- Ensure proper storage and categorization is facilitated for easy retrieval
- Work with the warehouse manager to troubleshoot storage/capacity issues and minimize additional storage costs (containers, external facilities, etc)
