Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and janitorial tasks to ensure that the school facility remains clean, safe, and in good working order. Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to providing a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Uphold mission, vision, values and policies and procedures of Roundup Fellowship.

General Maintenance:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on school facilities, including minor repairs to walls, flooring, and basic electrical, etc.
  • Inspect, document and maintain school equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Conduct regular checks on school building systems and report any issues or areas requiring repair.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment for events or classroom setups.
  • Maintain grounds, including outdoor walkways, playgrounds, and parking areas, ensuring they are clean and free of hazards.

Janitorial Duties:

  • Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in accordance with school policies.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas (e.g., paper towels, soap, toilet paper).
  • Schedule quarterly carpet cleaning.
  • Pick up trash in the parking lots.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including doorknobs, light switches, and railings.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all areas of the school are compliant with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Report safety hazards and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Assist in emergency situations, including snow removal, flooding, or other incidents that impact the school building.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Building Superintendent and other staff to ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with special projects and events, as needed.
  • Uphold principles of the trauma informed principles of Roundup Fellowship.
  • Participate in training and events that specifically address the intersection of trauma with culture, history, race, gender, location, and language.
  • Recognize the impact of vicarious trauma on the workforce and continually assess in supervision signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma as well as self-care plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum age of 21
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in light building and grounds operations.
  • Ability to read chemical labels.
  • Satisfactory Central Registry and FBI record check.
