About the ISO/Quality Supervisor - Rome, GA

 

This role will provide daily direction and support of laboratory functions to meet both internal and external customer needs. This role has direct reports, those direct reports will be mechanical and chemical lab technicians with the Quality Lab (both Bekaert and contractor employees). This role will report to the Quality Manager.

 

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Provides daily direction to lab team to ensure testing is completed in a timely manner to meet customer shipment requirements.
  • Coordinates with production and planning to meet customer shipping requirements.
  • Coordinates with production and technical department to manage special testing / trial workflow in the lab.
  • Assist lab team members with equipment, testing, and data issues that arise.
  • Reviews test report data and approves/releases test reports/shipments to the customer.
  • Manage/perform reception control, reviews vendor data and release raw materials for plant use. 
  • Manage/Perform test equipment maintenance, repair and calibration as required, Management of yearly contract.
  • Orders test supplies such as rubber compound, etc. to ensure smooth lab operation.

  • Management of Calibrations, MSA system to ensure lab testing is capable and in control.

  • Ensure the compliance with the IS0 9001 and IATF requirements by maintaining lab related procedures.

  • Conduct the refresher training prog for lab technicians and maintained the training and skill records.

  • Act as a document controller for the plant.

  • Lab audits – conduct internal lab audits, participate in the global lab quality audit, and ensure the compliance of corrective actions.

  • Conducting the cross checks programs for various lab test within Bekaert or with customers

  • Managing Std. samples, STD material for quality related testing and follow-ups.

  • Budget for the capital equipment required, up-gradation of existing equipment, Lab consumables, chemicals etc.

 

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of personal computers, computer networks and computer-controlled test equipment and technical and statistical training desired.
