Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise others in performing client’s service requirements
• Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvements
• Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT
• Conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, perform succession planning in preparation for growth
• Confront and address problems, concerns, and performance issues
• Coach and develop individual and team to maximize performance
• Foster motivation and morale
• Monitor and approve employees’ time worked through time-entry system

Additional Information:

• This position will have direct reports that are primarily responsible for Sample Management including but not limited to:
  • Enters samples into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Ensures sample submission paperwork is accurate and complete for sample entry
  • Prepares tobacco samples prior to distribution to appropriate laboratories for analyses
  • Manages sample inventory, including storage and disposal
  • Aliquots and distributes samples to laboratories
  • Tracks and monitors project-based sample submissions and reports on project progress to labs and customers as necessary
  • Tracks and monitors rush projects and provides reports to labs and client as needed
  • Logs and monitors non-routine projects, provides status updates, and supports the nonroutine process  
  • Sets up new login criteria for efficient log in of large sample projects
  • Produces internal routine and non-routine data reports for client base
  • Reviews data reported to clients for anomalies per specific criteria
