Boeing Test & Evaluation Flight Operations is looking for an Experienced Military Derivatives Test Pilot to join our team of aircrew conducting flight testing of the E-3 AWACS and developmental and production flight testing of the E-7 in Seattle, WA.  This position would integrate with a larger team of Boeing Defense and Boeing Commercial aircrew to execute all facets of flight operations, reporting to the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers, Chief Pilot of Surveillance. Flight test locations vary by program and include both within the US and Global test locations. This position requires leadership, sound judgement, and communication skills, along with flight test and certification experience in large, multi-engine transport category aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Safely conducts pilot responsibilities in multiple airframes, including activities to prepare for and conduct safe test flight operations

  • Performs activities to plan, conduct and evaluate ground and test flights

  • Leads aircrew activities to support design efforts

  • Supervises activities to plan, conduct and evaluate ground and flight tests, and provides aircrew support to design efforts

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot Certificate and instrument rating or an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate

  • 2500 flight hours, including 1000 hours of turbine and/or jet as Pilot-in-Command (PIC)

  • Experience leading and/or managing a team

  • Ability to obtain an FAA First Class Medical certificate 

  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Test Pilot School Graduate

  • Previous developmental or Engineering flight test experience

  • Previous E-3 experience

  • KC135 OR B-707 experience

  • Current 737 type rating

  • US Government Flight Representative (GFR) experience

Summary pay range: $196,000 – $245,000

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
