Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

 

  • Facilitate the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Measure financial performance against approved plans and standards and report the results.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the policies, organizational structure, and procedures in attaining the objectives of the business.
  • Participates in the preparation of reports to government agencies ensuring that all reports are prepared accurately and submitted timely.
  • Ensures fiscal protection of the business assets, establishing adequate internal control, auditing, and insurance coverage.
  • Continuously monitor economic and environmental factors and government influences, interpret their potential effects on the business.
  • Use the accounting system to provide accurate and timely information used for decision making and reporting.
  • Identify and implement systems and/or processes to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.
  • Follow internal auditing procedures to ensure compliance with organizational policy and assess the effectiveness of management controls.
  • Follows systems, processes and procedures for handling cash receipts and disbursements ensuring segregation of duties.
  • Monitor, direct, analyze and convey financial performance to the CFO.
  • Assure compliance with all governing regulations and manage all legal and contractual matters in accordance with current laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Establish a highly effective method of communicating with all organizational departments creating an organizational environment of professionalism and respect.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and statistical reports.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on employee benefits strategies, including the health plan, ancillary insurance plans, 401 (k) and paid time off.
  • Attend pertinent training courses (webinars, seminars, workshops, etc.) for personal and professional growth.
  • Partner with senior leadership to enhance and better integrate operations, finance, HR, and IT functions.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes keeping senior leadership abreast of Community Health Alliance financial status.
