Job Description

AHRC NYC is looking to immediately hire Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for Full and Part-time positions in ALL FIVE BOROUGHS. The pay rate for this position is between $17 - $19 per hour depending on residence placement and position. In addition, this position comes with a very generous benefit package which includes ZERO COST MEDICAL and VISION PLANS for BOTH SINGLE and FAMILY PLANS, dental, generous paid time off, commuter benefits, tuition assistance, a 403(b)retirement plan with a matching benefit, health savings accounts, and discount programs. 

Please note that for those positions where the hire-in pay rate is $17/hr. the pay rate becomes $18/hr. after 6 MONTHS!

(40hr) 3pm-11pm & 7am-3pm positions -  Driver's License Required 

(40hr & 30hr) 11pm-9am positions - Drivers License NOT Required.

  • The oversight of all safety and health considerations
  • Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
  • Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
  • Other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.

Qualifications

  • Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
  • Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills. Patience is a MUST!
  • Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
  • Ability to use a computer for data entry.
  • High school education/GED preferred.
